Telangana Minimum Wages Revised from 01 June 2026

The Government of Telangana has revised the minimum wages payable to employees working in 67 Scheduled Employments across the State through G.O. Ms. No. 6 dated 30 May 2026. The revised wage rates are effective from 1 June 2026 and apply to various categories of employees based on their skill level and the zone in which they are employed.

This revision is important for both employees and employers because it establishes the minimum amount that an employee must be paid based on their skill category and the location of employment.

What Is Minimum Wage?

Minimum wage is the lowest wage that an employer can legally pay to an employee. No employer can pay less than the prescribed minimum wage applicable to the employee’s category and location.

The objective of minimum wages is to ensure that workers receive a fair wage for their work and can maintain a basic standard of living.

Telangana Minimum Wages Effective from 1 June 2026

The Telangana Government has fixed the following monthly minimum wages:

Unskilled ₹ 16000 ₹ 15000 ₹ 14000
Semi-Skilled ₹ 17000 ₹ 16000 ₹ 15000
Skilled ₹ 18500 ₹ 17500 ₹ 16500
Highly Skilled ₹ 20000 ₹ 19000 ₹ 18000

Zone Classification in Telangana

The wage rates vary depending on the area where the employee is working.

Zone-I

Generally includes Municipal Corporations and major urban areas.

Zone-II

Generally includes Municipalities and developing urban areas.

Zone-III

Includes rural and other areas not covered under Zone-I and Zone-II.

Employees should verify the applicable zone with their employer or HR department.

Skill Categorization

Skill Category Definition of skill
Unskilled Personnel performing tasks primarily dependent on physical or manual effort. These tasks generally do not require prior experience, specialised training, or independent decision-making.
Semi-Skilled Personnel whose work requires skills gained through on-the-job experience and is performed under the supervision or guidance of a skilled employee. This category may also include supervision of unskilled workers.
Skilled Personnel performing work that requires technical knowledge, training, competence, or experience. Such work involves initiative, judgment, and specialised skills acquired through training or practical experience.
Highly Skilled Personnel performing work requiring a high degree of technical expertise, specialised training, or extensive practical experience. The role involves significant responsibility and independent judgment in carrying out duties.

Per Day Salary Calculation

To determine the per-day wage, divide the monthly minimum wage by 26.

Example : ₹ 16000 ÷ 26 = ₹ 615.38 Per Day
