The Labour Commissioner Office of Andaman and Nicobar Islands issued an official notification dated 8th July 2025, announcing the revised rates of minimum wages. These revised wages shall be applicable to all six Schedules of Employments and will remain in effect from 1st July 2025 to 31st December 2025.

Note :
- The new minimum wage rates are intended to include a weekly day of rest. To calculate the monthly wage, the daily minimum wage amount should be multiplied by 26 days.
- No gender discrimination – Where men and women employees perform similar work, wages should not differ based on gender under the new rates.
- Existing employees earning higher wages – Wherever an employee is already earning higher pay than the revised minimum wage applicable for their category of work, their existing higher wage rate is to continue being paid.

Below are the 6 Schedules of Employments:
- Shops, Commercial Establishments, Residential Hotels, Lodging Houses, Restaurants, Eating Houses, Theatres and Places of Public Amusements or Entertainment.
- Wood Based Industries.
- Educational Institutes / Schools/ Nurseries / Kinder Gartens / Tutorials / Coaching Institutes in the Private Sector other than the CBSE Affiliated Institutions.
- Agriculture.
- Construction or Maintenance of Roads or in the Building Operations or Stone Breaking or Stone Crushing.
- Loading and Unloading.
