The Government of Haryana has revised the minimum wages for workers across the state. The new wages are effective from 1 April 2026 and apply to all types of employment, including contract workers.

What has changed?
The Labour Department of Haryana has increased the minimum wages for different categories of workers. This revision has been done under the provisions of the Code on Wages, 2019.
These new rates replace the earlier wages that were last revised in 2015.
Latest Minimum Wages in Haryana (April 2026)
The revised monthly wages are as follows:

These wages are applicable to all employments across the state.
Important points employees should know
Basic wage only (no splitting allowed)
The notification clearly states that these are basic minimum wages. Employers are not allowed to divide this amount into different components like allowances to reduce liability.
Applicable to contract workers
If you are working through a contractor or service provider:
- You are still entitled to minimum wages
- The principal employer is responsible if the contractor does not pay properly
Equal wages for men and women
There is no difference in wages based on gender. Both male and female employees must be paid equally for the same category of work.
Trainee wages
- Trainees can be paid 75% of the applicable wages
- However, it cannot be less than the unskilled minimum wage
- Training period should not exceed one year
Per day calculation
- Monthly wage is divided by 26 days to calculate per day wages
- For deductions, it may be calculated on 30 days basis
Who is covered under this notification?
These minimum wages apply to:
- Factory workers
- Establishments
- Contract labour
- Employees under different types of employment
This ensures that almost all workers in Haryana are covered under this wage structure.
What if you are paid less?
If your salary is below the prescribed minimum wage:
- You have the right to ask your employer for correction
- You can raise the issue with HR or management
- You may also approach the Labour Department if required
Paying less than minimum wage is a violation of law.
Will wages change again?
Since this revision has been done under the Code on Wages, future changes may happen based on inflation and government updates.
The notification also mentions that wages will be adjusted based on changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), as per the rules.
