The Labour Commissioner’s Office of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has issued an official notification dated 19 December 2025, revising the minimum wage rates. The revised wages will be applicable to all six Schedules of Employment and shall remain effective for the period from 1 January 2026 to 30 June 2026.

Note :
- The new minimum wage rates are intended to include a weekly day of rest. To calculate the monthly wage, the daily minimum wage amount should be multiplied by 26 days.
- No gender discrimination – Where men and women employees perform similar work, wages should not differ based on gender under the new rates.
- Existing employees earning higher wages – Wherever an employee is already earning higher pay than the revised minimum wage applicable for their category of work, their existing higher wage rate is to continue being paid.

Below are the 6 Schedules of Employment:
- Shops, Commercial Establishments, Residential Hotels, Lodging Houses, Restaurants, Eating Houses, Theaters and Places of Public Amusements or Entertainment.
- Wood Based Industries.
- Educational Institutes / Schools/ Nurseries / Kinder Gartens / Tutorials / Coaching Institutes in the Private Sector other than the CBSE Affiliated Institutions.
- Agriculture.
- Construction or Maintenance of Roads or in the Building Operations or Stone Breaking or Stone Crushing.
- Loading and Unloading.
