The Government of Uttar Pradesh has revised minimum wage rates for 74 scheduled employments, effective from 01 October 2026 to 31 March 2027, through an official notification dated 21 October 2026.
The revised minimum wages include Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA), calculated based on the average Consumer Price Index for January to June 2026.
The applicable minimum wage rates are classified into three categories based on geographical location:
- Category I: Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) and Ghaziabad.
- Category II: Districts in Uttar Pradesh having a Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation).
- Category III: Other districts in Uttar Pradesh, excluding those covered under Categories I and II.
The minimum wage rates vary across these three categories, with Category I having the highest rates and Category III having the lowest rates.

Note: The above minimum wage rates are applicable from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. The total minimum wage includes Basic Wage and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA). The daily wage rates are calculated on the basis of 1/26 of the monthly wage.
